lesson learned.

for some reason, i'm feeling completely drained! -even today at work, the trek from the guard office to the other side of the pool where i'm supposed to stand to guard was just severely taxing -and i don't really know why.

i did have a really good workout in the morning. today was a cardio day so i did about 10 minutes of interval training on the treadmill at 6.0 mph and 6.5 mph as my rest speed and work speed, respectively. and then i kinda gave up on the treadmill cuz i started to feel like my body was overly tired -which isn't an excuse or me taking the easy way out...i really was feeling like i couldn't get through another 10 minutes -so i moved over to the stairmaster and did 15 minutes of interval training on it. basically, i kept both cardio sessions short and sweet...but made the most of the time i had. so total calories burned was a bit short of 300 -meh, it's good enough for me for today...i'm not complaining.

so, on top of the fact that work was just brutal and i couldn't bare standing, and i got into a fight with one of the lane swimmers. i realized that, for someone like me -who blindly gives people the benefit of the doubt -i have to always remind myself that nobody is the same six months or a year later as they are when you first meet them. no relationship will ever be as perfect as most first encounters go -nor will people ever behave after that first meeting as they did during those infamous, "first five minutes" (the span of time during which a first impression is formed). and it's okay to change your perception of someone once their true colours start to show. in some cases, first-impressions are improved upon as people get to know each other. for the most part, however, i think the opposite tends to be the dominant trend. and although i think it's essentially my fault not to have seen the signs as they occassionally and subtly presented themselves over the course of a year or so, now that i can see what you're really like, i have absolutely no tolerance for your arrogant and obnoxious attitude.

as hard as it is to meet people, in itself, it's even harder to ensure any kind of continuity in the relationships you establish and develop with those people. so i suppose that that's yet another reason to be appreciative of that single and rare instance that comes across which results in an almost-perfect compatibility. because it's not everyday that you meet someone who will blow your mind away or sweep you off your feet -something every girl can only dream of. so when you do -when it does happen to you - as hard as it may be, it may require putting aside your selfish tendencies and the stubborn attitude you're so used to getting away with...because in today's world, to have that happen to you...it's a one-in-a-million chance. and to let it go, well, you'd have to be an idiot that people want to kick in the face.

sadly, i may be one of those people. let's just hope that that's not exactly the case.

anywayyyy, time to sleep. tomorrow's a new day; and new day means a new lesson -p.s. i love wednesdays because wednesdays means pilates! <3
