here's my thing.

it's debatable; i'll admit that much. but human nature -in my philosophical opinion -is inherently evil. and whereas you may feel inclined to argue against that claim, if you read even the tip of the iceberg of supporting arguments, i am certain you will eventually agree. sadly, (or fortunately, rather) what makes us the compassionate, sympathetic, generous and emotional beings we are so highly reputed to be, is that we exist within the infinite bounds of an impeccable marketing campaign.

not to start the work week on a negative note -nor to come across as the biggest pessimist of life, but it's true.

anyway, believe it or not -it all boils down to a matter of opinion. and, the way i see it, because human nature is, by design, flawed, i'm beginning to think that one's purpose in life -alongside the pursuit of happiness -is to somehow find a way to ultimately defy it.

so, there you go: just because we are disposed to lean towards certain tendencies, behave in certain ways and eventually slip into the pre-set mould that awaits us somewhere down the line...it doesn't mean we necessarily have to.

and regardless of what you do, where you end up or what hardships you may face, i am a true believer in that you can defy all these evil forces by keeping yourself in check, knowing who you are, always being true to that self and never losing sight of your inner child.

now don't go around quoting me on it, but i'll maybe give a 20-year update as to how i did =P
