ok, so...i don't really know where i've been this past little while -obviously not here, if you know what i mean - which is why i only JUST realized that we have only four weeks left until Christmas day!
holy batman, has this year flown by!
unfortunately, as is the case every time the end of november rolls around, i haven't even begun thinking about thinking about Christmas shopping -let alone what to put on MY wish list! so i am -admittedly -significantly behind in that department...as per the usual. what's worse: if you could only fathom just how much i despise shopping malls at christmas time -even moreso, their parking lots -the passage of time (which seems to somehow increase exponentially around now) just so happens to be entirely ineffective when it comes satisfying its supposed purpose as a time bomb of sorts. and despite my annual reminder to myself: to have all my christmas shopping for the following year completed, in full, by halloween; i am a firm believer in that it is simply the will of the universe that with each holiday season, i fail more miserably in my shopping endeavours than the last.
and this year is no different.
except it is =)
this year is so completely different than the last and the one before that and the one before that -bar my disastrous shopping status. and, boy, am i ever glad that that's the case.
it's true: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. and to think that i wasted ALL that time...and on what?!
i will never know.
regardless, the past is the past -and thank goodness for that. and in anticipation of the near future, here's to a fabulous holiday season and as "Canadian" a winter as winters get!
and in the spirit of carpe diem, if i learned anything this year -other than how to my file my own fingernails, it'd have to be that life's too short. so, enjoy yourself -it's later than you think =)
