ask anyone -anywhere in the world- and they'll tell you the place from which those famous words hail. sadly, the ratio of people who possess that morsel of wisdom, to those who actually live their lives by it is easily a billion and a half to one.
looking back, there are certain chances i've chosen not to take for whatever reasons i had at the time i chose not to take them. and although they haven't turned out to be detrimental, per se, i've realized that i cannot continue to live my life by constantly fearing what may or may not lie ahead, who i may or may not be hurting in the process...or what people may or may not think. we only fear what we do not know because we aren't willing to take risks. but i'm starting to believe that anything worth fearing is worth a shot.
sounds selfish?
perhaps it is.
but in all honesty, has anybody ever gotten anywhere by missing out on the opportunities available to them? has anyone ever won anything worth winning without risking something worth losing??
rhetorical?
maybe.
and although it may be challenging to partake in each and every single opportunity life presents to you, it's just as difficult -if not more so- to admit that you have regrets as a result of the decisions you've made. i know i have all the possibilities i could ever ask for, available to me. and it's just a matter of taking life up on the offers its making.
