little girl, you're in the middle of the ride.

you know that fast-forward button we all secretly wish our lives sometimes had? the one we'd use to skip ahead of all the scenes we've already watched and the episodes whose endings we've already anticipated; the button that would get us to the point at which real life starts to happen just like things happen in the movies...the one by which we'd finally be able to assure our inner skeptics that all the chances we blindly chose to take were, in fact, worth the risks involved?

yea, that button.

and although it would most likely make life a hell of a lot easier for those of us who wholly put our hearts on the line; it would also mean potentially fast-forwarding past those mundane days, which sometimes end up granting us the little bits and pieces necessary for unlocking just what the future may have in store.

so, despite how tempting, and how easy, it may be, to -once and for all- toss my umbrella of optimism into the cupboard under the stairs and pronounce life an, inevitably, lose-lose situation...

it looks like it's about to rain.
