smashing weekend!

my first attempt at coordinating some sort of wellness initiative was a success, to say the least. we killed it in the annual sick kids hospital, charity-volleyball tournament. to be truthful, we played way, way, way better than i had expected. that's not to say that i went in with even the slightest of a negative attitude -however, organizing something to that degree and maintaining a certain level of enthusiasm...well, it's time consuming and extremely challenging to do in an office full of unmotivated, too-cool-for-school, adults.

however, we won 4 out of our 5 games -made it to the playoffs. and, although we were eliminated in the first round, we lost to a team who -in our defense -should have been playing at the competitive level, as opposed to in our recreational division. anyway, it's always easier to accept defeat by a rightfully stronger and better team =P and the result -despite the loss -was that everyone got out and had a fantastic time!

to add to the ice-cream sundae that this weekend has been, spain defeated the netherlands -and boy, was that a soccer game or what?! i'll admit, it was an extremely tedious one up until the 117th minute -but, those last three minutes were totally worth the wait. yes, torres turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. understandably, he was partially injured and not physically up to par; but i was expecting him to deliver in that he had the potential to be spain's sydney crosby.

guess not.

anyway, the world cup was succeeded by an action-packed photoshoot. the pictures are up on my flickr..check them out because holy moly, these boys can fly!

enjoy =)
